The VW series began after Katrina. I started photographing
abandoned cars in our neighborhood and around the city. One
day while painting I stood back, reviewed my progress and this
one particular VW appeared in the composition. I quickly sketched
it in and it worked beautifully! The others came quite quickly
giving, life to abandonment.
